A Father's Day Story

When the word father comes up, what are the first few things that come to mind? Is he an authoritative figure in your life? Someone who you seek to impress? A silent stature in the house?

Or is he a friend? 

When we ask ourselves how much we actually know about our fathers, the overwhelming result is not enough.

In this Father's Day Story, we see that the distance between fathers and children have a lot to do with age. A young Atty sits on his father's lap and his father cannot contain his laughter at his child's raw humour. The chemistry between the two is undeniable.

While an older pair, Raymond and Patrick, relate to each other on their unspoken desires of traveling to the same places. They end up promising to plan a trip together. It's a bittersweet moment when two people who were once so close realise how little they now know about each other now. But It doesn't have to be that way. 

Warm smiles and loud laughter fill the room, tossed between fathers and their children both young and old. Relationships are meant to be intentional so take some time in knowing more about your father, the person that he is. Perhaps you both share an equal amount of exes, perhaps you both have a desire to travel to the North Pole. This Father's Day, make an effort in genuinely getting to know each other. 

It's the time that we have in sharing who we are with each other that truly makes Father's Day matter.
